Varieties

Tempranillo / Graciano/ Garnacha tinta

 

Alcoholic content: 13,5 % Vol.

 

Climate

Rains, more abundant in winter than during the rest of the year, are optimal for growing vines. The wind channeled by the valley of the Ebro river maintains them healthy, and facilitates suitable water stress for good grape quality.

 

Soil type

Well-drained clay-calcareous soils

 

Vines

Old vines selected from different areas of Rioja, aged between 50 and 80 years

 

Wine making process

Fermentation in tanks of 30,000 kg, at a temperature of 28°C for a period of 2 weeks

 

Oak

Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels (50%) and American (50%).

Further refined in bottle, with a total aging time, between barrel and bottle, of 2-3 years.

 

Tasting notes

Intense deep red colour. Pleasant aroma, which highlights the nuances of ripe fruit. In mouth it’s soft, expressive and elegant, combining a fruity character with the notes lent by the barrel, in perfect balance.

Grilled red meats, stews, roasts, duck, cured cheeses, ham

 

Temperature

Serve between 14°C and 16°C
