Tasting notes

Pale colour with pink tones. An intense and complex aroma, with fruity hints of tart strawberry and apple combined with floral notes of violet and rose. It is elegant, fresh and fruity in the mouth. The fruity notes of strawberry are highlighted and linger throughout tasting and aftertasting.

Characteristics of the vineyard

The wine comes from two of our own estates. The Tempranillo comes from the Molí Coloma estate next to the winery. The soil at the vineyard is very pebbly, giving the wines unique freshness and personality. The Merlot and Syrah come from the Sumarroca estate, where the soil is chalky with some gravel and little organic matter.

 

Tasting notes

Complex aromas with undertones of violets and notes of strawberry and raspberry. Soft and velvety on the palate with a fruity character that persists through to the aftertaste. Aftertaste of red fruit.

 

Production

Separate wine­making processes for each variety. The length of maceration varies according to the variety, being ten hours for Tempranillo, four for Merlot and two in the case of Syrah. Static filtration for 24 hours and controlled fermentation at 16oC.

Characteristics of the vineyard

The 2014 season began with heavy rain in October, although it hardly rained for the rest of the winter and very mild temperatures were recorded. Between the end of February and March, temperatures dropped, which caused a slight delay to the start of the sprouting process. However, temperatures rose again sharply in April. Only at the end of the month, along with the rain, did the temperatures drop and return to temperatures similar to those recorded in February. Temperatures remained low throughout the month of June and the extreme heat did not arrive until mid­July, accompanied by a dry precipitation. During the rest of the maturing period, between August and September, cool temperatures, in particular at night, meant that full maturity was reached a week later than normal and in various stages.
